About

Hannah Maetzener's sensitive, lively, realistic style - influenced by the Impressionists such as Cassatt and Gogh and the bright portraits of Hadden Sundblom - communicates themes of nature, family, childhood, and spirit using natural light, organic forms, and a playfulness with colour.
During extensive travels in her 20s, Hannah began specialising in portraits by drawing from life many of the people she met along the way. Tutored by artists such as illustrator and painter Richard Jesse Watson at a private art course in Australia from 2003 and 2004-2007 as school staff, and continues to grow as an artist via independent study.
She currently lives with her Canadian family in the UK.
Her work includes not-for-profit community murals in India, Egypt, China, and South Africa, and in 2017 Hannah has completed two murals in Toronto.
Hannah is currently focusing on a collection of portraits based on 1940s film stars.
